Arlie Adkins is an author and professor. His academic work is widely cited across the fields of urban planning, geography, and public health. In fiction, one of his short stories was a semifinalist for American Short Fiction's 2025 Halifax Ranch Fiction Prize.

His debut novel, Andiamo!, is forthcoming from Celadon Books in 2027.

My final read of 2025 🪩🕺🏻 Just finished Daughters of Shandong by Eve J. Chung. What a beautifully written, multi-generational story — told by one of the more endearing protagonists I’ve read in a while.

Would have read it sooner, but (fittingly) my mom stole it the minute I bought it. Books left out on coffee tables are not safe. Two thumbs up from both of us!
